Japan Strategic Capital operates and manages funds that invest in start-ups with promising intellectual property and new technologies, agricultural companies with growth potential.
In July 2013, we established the SMBC Agri Fund Investment Limited Partnership with investment from Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and SMBC Venture Capital. In addition, the SMBC 6th Industrialization Fund Investment Limited Partnership was established with investment from the SMBC Agri fund and the Agriculture, forestry and fisheries Fund corporation for Innovation, Value-chain and Expansion Japan.
In 2020, we established the Akafuji Farm Innovation Investment Limited Partnership with investment from Shinmei Holdings and Japan Finance Corporation to invest in rice-farming companies.
