Jan. 2004 | Japan Strategic Capital was originally established as Tsukuba Technology Seed Co. Ltd as a subsidiary of Japan Asia Investment Co., Ltd. (JAIC) – a TSE mainboard listed company, with experience investing in Asia for over two decades. |
Jun. 2008 | Became one of the incubators under JAIC Seed Capital, a subsidiary of JAIC which was also founded by the current management of JSC as the holding structure of the group incubators. |
Apr. 2012 | Awarded “Promoter” status from Ministry of Education in their START program promoting the commercialization of technologies in universities and research institutes. |
Mar. 2013 | The management of the company completed a management buyout from JAIC and became a wholly independent company. |
Jul. 2013 | JSC started management of its first fund: an Agribusiness fund with $30M funded by SMBC Banking group and $20M sub-fund matched from A-FIVE-J, a Japanese governmental institution. |
May. 2020 | Start an agricultural fund for rice-growing corporations with the Shinmei Group and Japan Finance Corporation. |
Jul. 2020 | Become part of the Social Impact Solutions Group (SIPS) following the restructuring of companies initiated and implemented by JSC management. |
