Jan. 2004 Japan Strategic Capital was originally established as Tsukuba Technology Seed Co. Ltd as a subsidiary of Japan Asia Investment Co., Ltd. (JAIC) –  a TSE mainboard listed company, with experience investing in Asia for over two decades.
Jun. 2008 Became one of the incubators under JAIC Seed Capital, a subsidiary of JAIC which was also founded by the current management of JSC as the holding structure of the group incubators.
Apr. 2012 Awarded “Promoter” status from Ministry of Education in their START program promoting the commercialization of technologies in universities and research institutes.
Mar. 2013 The management of the company completed a management buyout from JAIC and became a wholly independent company.
Jul. 2013 JSC started management of its first fund: an Agribusiness fund with $30M funded by SMBC Banking group and $20M sub-fund matched from A-FIVE-J, a Japanese governmental institution.
May. 2020 Start an agricultural fund for rice-growing corporations with the Shinmei Group and Japan Finance Corporation.
Jul. 2020 Become part of the Social Impact Solutions Group (SIPS) following the restructuring of companies initiated and implemented by JSC management.
